It is time for a Recess- How a recession may be good for the soul

A recess is a period of time in which a group of people have been dismissed. Today many people are experiencing being laid off from their jobs and are feeling concerned. But what if I tell you that a "time for a recess" is biblical and much needed.

Whenever there is a recession, it affects lives; financially, spiritually and emotionally. However, it is a time for society to reassess any social and economical injustice which exposes our society's sickness. What our society is encountering today, is not new. It happens in seasons throughout history for many generations. Moreover, GOD promised that He would visit the land every 70 years and perhaps this is the generation that will experience His holy presence to correct any injustice, inequality, restore nations and extinguish any oppression imposed on the poor. Please consider that GOD is sovereign over investment companies collapsing, foreclosures, bank failures, housing crises which all of them leads to our social sicknesses.

In conclusion to this thought, a recession is a time to gather a group of people for a recess for repentance and some are set aside for judgment for all the lying, stealing and bribery. It is a time for some to readjust their roots of joy in GOD's grace instead of goods and possessions. It is time for a recession to advance GOD's saving mission because we have become drunk with prosperity and as result, some have become blind to the misery and poverty that exists in the world. Unless, we have a "time for a recess," this world will continue to spiral into a mess. This is why I believe that a recession may be good for the soul.

PRAYER:

Father you are GOD and your word is true. We exalt You, our GOD and King. You are our source and we place our trust in You today. We are the flock under Your care and we thank you for blessing our land throughout the years. We thank you for surrounding our nation with your favor and grace during our economic crises. Thank you Father, in Jesus name we pray.
