In Ephesians 6:13-17 NKJV, it describes the spiritual attire needed to defeat the enemy. As children of GOD, it will be at our advantage not to be found "naked without the truth, but dressed in the full armour of GOD for protection.

To be fully dressed, we must ...

First, put on the "belt of truth." In Ephesians 6:14 NKJV, it urges us to "stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist." Knowing the truth brings freedom (John 8:32 NKJV) and when you know it, you can stand firm on GOD's word . But you must pursue it by pressing into His counsel, pray with GOD's word and using it as a template guide. Desiring to memorize and internalize GOD's word every day will develop a strong and bold conviction to stand up against any lie.

Second, "the breastplate of righteousness" must stay in place. If we are not careful, we can be tempted to fall into all kinds of sinful entanglements, but righteousness will protect the heart; however, obedience to GOD's word will also protect the heart from being hurt by the results of sin. We all struggle and some of these struggles will get us entangled into sin which is why it is important to find a trusted person to pray for you and with you for support and to stay sharp. Furthermore, it does come down to each individual on how they view GOD's instructions. Is it a blessing or a burden to follow them?

Third, the "shoes of the gospel of peace." In Ephesians 6:15 NKJV, it reads "and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." Peace is "oneness" attributed to the LORD's character (Galatians 5:22). The gospel means "good news" on forgiveness of sins and having access to oneness with GOD through faith in JESUS, the Christ. Whenever you are connected with the LORD, you will have peace. He said in John 14:27 NKJV, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. The gospel itself is to be a firm foundation and your walk is to be a worthy testament of your peace.

Fourth: STAND FIRM! We are reminded in Ephesians 6:11-16 to "stand" and to "stand firm." However, one of the easiest way for the enemy to succeed in shaking us out of position is by robbing us of our peace and by inciting anxiety. But the gospel of peace can help keep our feet from being anchored to a lie. Therefore, surround yourself with scriptures about the truth. Set your identity and security in the work of the gospel that JESUS did on your behalf.

Fifth: "The shield of faith...," " above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one." as written in Ephesians 6:16 NKJV. Just like the Roman soldiers carried shields to extinguish the darts with their shields; dipped in water. We are to be "dipping" into GOD's word to be replenished and to ensure that it is fully functioning in our lives. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD (Romans 10:17 NKJV ). Therefore, if you are feeling less faithful and faithless, than you may want to pray and ask the LORD to increase your faith just as "father of the child cried out and said with tears," in Mark 9:24 NKJV, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” You see, there can be a conflict between faith and doubt, so it is important to feed and fill your faith with 'GOD's word. Do not set your faith in your circumstances, but in GOD's righteousness.

Sixth: Written in Ephesians 6:17 NKJV, it reads "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of GOD; The helmet of salvation rests on the work of JESUS and when you allow the LORD to work salvation in your thoughts, you are getting His perspective to help release those stronghold thoughts that can bind you

(John 10:10 NKJV) .

Finally, the devil knows how priceless you are to GOD, so it is best to put on the full armor and not be found "standing naked without the truth." Once you know the truth, you will be able to withstand the "wiles of the devil."

Stay dressed and stay blessed
